Who We Are
BOADE Design Studio is a creative venture that was born out of a desire to advocate for design that helps people thrive—not just survive.
Design is not merely sticky notes, focus groups, wireframes, and problem statements. Design is also not just about what is created but how it is created. Though the process can be messy and ambiguous at times, seeing the positive impact of intentionally designing solutions that prioritize people and their health and wellbeing is the ultimate reward.
At BOADE, design is a strategic approach to problem-solving, a thread that is always evident from concept to reality. We use a human-centered approach to our work. This means that designing ethically and equitably is at our core. There is no other way. Through evidence-based research and cohesive storytelling, we co-create solutions that put people and communities first and celebrate their unique perspectives.
So, for us, design is and will always be at the heart of everything we do.
Our Design Principles
Boldness
Solving complex problems means we need to have bold ideas that push boundaries past traditional ways of thinking.
Authenticity
We actively do the work to build a culture of belonging and psychological safety where people feel free to be themselves and express their ideas.
Curiosity
We challenge ourselves to ask questions, especially the hard ones, and put effort into understanding the biases and/or assumptions that we may have.
Adaptability
Because the design process can be messy at times, we remain flexible in our approach while also keeping the end goal in mind: creating impactful solutions for people.
